You Are a Stylist Now, But Your Mom Was Your OG Stylist

Mom knows best. It was true when we were little girls trying to sit still while our moms braided our hair or brushed it out after a trip to the pool. And it is still true today while we are the ones standing behind the chair and making someone else’s hair more beautiful. Some of us had moms who were stylists, and some of us did not. But no matter what our moms did in the office or in our homes, they always had time to help us look our best. These are the kind of lessons that stick with us, and Mother’s Day is a great time to remind ourselves of all the important things our moms have done for us! Where would we be without her beautiful example and ideas for a beautiful head of hair?

1. Understand your own hair texture

All hair is not created equal, and mom always taught us to love the hair we have and not worry about the hair we wish we had. Depending on the texture and thickness, she knew we had to embrace reality so we could make the most of our beautiful tresses. Thin hair needs a whole different beauty regime than thick hair. 2. You should always use a heat protectant

We had lots of fun throughout our lives with our moms blow drying, straightening, or curling our hair.  But one thing mom always insisted on was that we take care to protect our locks from the damage caused by all the heat we were using.
