Technique Notes

Section to the plate. The plate is 2 inches wide, so take 2-inch sections. Each section then gets even heat and needs fewer passes, which saves time over the full head.

Read the hair first. Before you pick a heat setting, check density, texture, and porosity. Use low heat for fine or compromised hair and high heat for coarse or dense hair.

Work the sequence:

1. Section at 2 inches, starting at the crown.
2. Glide slowly and steadily from root to ends.
